VERONA STONE DISTRICT

The Verona Stone District includes all those companies that cut, shape

and install stone, marble, granite and agglomerates from all over the world.

“An industrial district is a local production system included in a well-defined area of the region that features a high concentration of artisanal and industrial manufacturing companies, with a prevalence of small to medium-sized ones that operate on specific production chains or related supply chains for the regional economy”.

Region of Veneto Law nr. 13 from May 30th 2014, “Disciplina dei distretti industriali, delle reti innovative regionali e delle aggregazioni di imprese.”

OBJECTIVES

The production and processing of these noble raw materials have always been a part of this territory. It’s time for this industry to exploit them to the fullest and turn the Verona stone and marble district into a widely recognized international key player.
To do so, the Verona Stone District has set three key objectives.

INTERNATIONALISATION

Guide small to medium-sized stone industry companies towards new goals, open to the opportunities and possibilities of the international market.

COOPERATION

Favor union and cooperation among industry companies and players – processors, extractors, machine manufacturers, research and analysis labs, training schools, architects and designers.

RESEARCH AND TRAINING

Set up clear-cut training paths for future industry workers in order to encourage research on new techniques to process and use raw materials.
